Whereas, Ordinance 6PSF-E, May 20, 2015, authorizes the designation of an intersection, etc. for honorary and ceremonial purposes; and
Whereas, Stephen N. Adubato, a prominent and influential political leader, educator and businessman in the City of Newark founded the North Ward Cultural Center and the Robert Treat Academy Charter School in the City of Newark; and
Whereas, the Newark Municipal Council would like to commemorate his unselfish dedication to Newark by renaming the intersection of Mount Prospect Avenue and Treadwell Street in his honor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby authorize and ratify the renaming of the corner of Mt. Prospect Avenue and Treadwell Street as Stephen N. Adubato for honorary and ceremonial purposes.
2. The names of said streets shall remain Mt. Prospect Avenue and Treadwell Street in their entirety.
