AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23:5-14e, PARKING BY PERMIT ONLY IN DESIGNATED RESIDENTIAL AREAS, OF TITLE 23, TRAFFIC AND PARKING, OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, 2000, AS AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED, BY ADDING DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. BOULEVARD BETWEEN CRANE STREET AND BLOOMFIELD AVENUE TO THE EXISTING PERMIT PARKING AREAS DESIGNATED LIST.

WHEREAS, the residents of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard have submitted a petition for Permit Parking; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Engineering wishes to improve parking for residents by creating Residential Permit Parking along Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard between Crane Street and Bloomfield Avenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
Section 1. That Section 23:5-14e, Parking by Permit Only in Designated Residential Areas, of Title 23, Traffic and Parking, of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, New Jersey, 2000, be amended and supplemented by adding thereto the following:
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, both sides, between Crane Street and Bloomfield Avenue.
(Hours: 24hrs. / Days: Monday-Sunday)
Section 2. Regulatory signs shall be erected and maintained by the City of Newark.
Section 3. Any ordinance or parts thereof inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon final passage and publication and in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey.
Section 5. This ordinance does not require approval by the Commissioner of Transportation.
STATEMENT
This ordinance allows Parking by Permit Only on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard between Crane Street and Bloomfield Avenue.
