Whereas, Ordinance 6PSF-E, May 20, 2015, authorizes the designation of an intersection, etc. for honorary and ceremonial purposes; and
Whereas, the late Reverend Dr. John T. Teabout was a prominent minister in the City of Newark for many years and dedicated his ministry to saving souls and rebuilding lives; and
Whereas, the Newark Municipal Council would like to commemorate his unselfish achievements and accomplishments by renaming the intersection of Peshine Avenue and Custer Avenue in his honor
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby authorize the renaming of the corner of Peshine Avenue and Custer Avenue as Reverend Dr. John T. Teabout Way for honorary and ceremonial purposes.
2. The names of said streets shall remain Peshine Avenue and Custer Avenue in their entirety.
