WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-120 et seq., the City of Newark is authorized to appoint up to fifty (50) Constables for a term of three (3) years unless the Council, by resolution, fixes a one-year term; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newark wishes to appoint a Constable with a term of three (3) years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. Lawrence Sealy, 228 Kerrigan Blvd, Newark, New Jersey 07106, be and is appointed as a Constable, in accordance with his application to serve subpoenas, summonses and writs.
2. Prior to carrying out the duties of his office and no later than thirty (30) days after the effective date of the appointment, the aforesaid appointee shall submit a Constable Bond, which shall be approved as to form, amount and sufficiency of Surety by resolution of the Newark Municipal Council.
3. This appointment shall be for a period of three (3) years from the date of appointment or the expiration of the Constable Bond, whichever occurs first.

This resolution authorizes the appointment of Lawrence Sealy, 228 Kerrigan Blvd, Newark, New Jersey 07106, to serve as a Constable in the City of Newark, New Jersey for a period of three (3) years from the date of appointment or the expiration of the Constable Bond, whichever occurs first.
