WHEREAS, the City of Newark (the "City") seeks to offer victims services to male survivors of violence; and

WHEREAS, the United States Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs Office for Victims of Crime, solicited proposals for the FY 15 Supporting Male Survivors of Violence: Purpose Area 1: Demonstration Projects ("Supporting Male Survivors of Violence Project"), which encourages cities to provide innovative new crime victims services to male survivors of violence that have been harmed by violence; and

WHEREAS, on June 17, 2015, on behalf of the City of Newark, under the Mayor's Office with Rutgers University - Newark, Department of Psychology and School of Criminal Justice as the City's educational partner, submitted an application to the United States Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs Office for Victims of Crime, requesting funding in the amount of $1,000,000.00 for Supporting Male Survivors of Viol...
