Amending Constable Appointment due to the late receipt of the Constable Bond

WHEREAS, Lawrence Sealey, of 228 Kerrigan Boulevard, Newark, New Jersey 07106, was appointed as a Constable pursuant to Resolution 7R9-b adopted at the February 3, 2016, Regular Municipal Council Meeting; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-125, Lawrence Sealey, of 228 Kerrigan Boulevard, Newark, New Jersey 07106, must provide a bond within thirty (30) days of the initial adoption of the resolution of appointment, in such form and amount as prescribed by the Governing Body and approved as to form and legality by the Corporation Counsel; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council wishes to amend the term of appointment, in part due to the overdue receipt of the Bond and approve the form, amount and sufficiency of the Constable Bond.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The term of the Constable appointment of Lawrence Sealey, of 228 Kerrigan Boulevard, Newark, New Jersey 07106, is amended from February 3, 2016 to a term of three (3) years from the date of the Constable Bond to its expiration.
2. The Resolution 7R9-b, adopted on February 3, 2016, Regular Municipal Council Meeting is hereby amended accordingly.
