WHEREAS, the City of Newark, Department of Water and Sewer Utilities was informed by the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness (OHSP), through a letter, that they have allocated a sum of $150,000.00 for the "FY2016 Urban Areas Security Initiative Grant for the Newark Water Interconnect at the Belleville Reservoir". The New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness (NJOHSP), provides grant funds for various Urban Security Programs; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newark, Department of Water and Sewer Utilities desires to accept and execute the attached agreement with the NJOHSP to improve security at the Newark Water Interconnect at the Belleville Reservoir; and
WHEREAS, the agreement between the NJOHSP and the City of Newark specifies how the funds should be used for the Newark Water Interconnect at the Belleville Reservoir (a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof); and
