WHEREAS, the Municipal Council previously adopted Resolution 7R9-b on November 6, 2014 appointing Shawn W. Reeves, 2 Keer Avenue, Apt. #5F, Newark, New Jersey 07112, as a Constable for a period of three (3) years, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-120; and
WHEREAS, the sponsoring Council Member, for reasons related to the public interest, wishes to rescind the Constable appointment of Shawn Reeves.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Constable Appointment of Shawn W. Reeves is hereby rescinded.
2. Upon adoption of this resolution, the City Clerk shall immediately notify Mr. Reeves that his appointment as a Constable has been rescinded.
3. Mr. Reeves, upon notification by the City Clerk, shall immediately return his official identification card to the City Clerk and cease and desist from serving warrants and all other activities, duties and responsibilities of a Constable.
4. A copy of this resolution rescinding the appointment shall be forwarded by the Office of the City Clerk to the Acting Director of the Department of Public Safety.
STATEMENT
This resolution immediately rescinds, in its entirety for reasons related to the public interest, the appointment of Shawn W. Reeves, of 2 Keer Avenue, Apt. #5F, Newark, New Jersey 07112, as a Constable of the City of Newark, New Jersey.
