WHEREAS, Ordinance 6PSF-E, adopted on May 20, 2015, authorizes the designation of an intersection, etc. for honorary and ceremonial purposes; and
WHEREAS, Rev. Dr. Lillie Minnigan was a noted Evangelist throughout the Greater Newark community for over sixty (60) years, in addition to serving as an influential mentor to numerous religious and spiritual leaders; and
WHEREAS, she was also very committed and dedicated to her beloved Leo Place/Vernon Avenue community, where she lived, raised her family and became an active member of the Leo Place Block Association.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby authorize the honorary and ceremonial renaming of the intersection of Vernon Avenue, between Leo Place and Nairn Place as Rev. Dr. Lillie Minnigan Way.
2. The name of the said streets shall remain Vernon Avenue in its entirety.

This resolution hereby authorizes the naming of the intersection of Vernon Avenue, between Leo Place and Nairn Place as Rev. Dr. Lillie Minnigan Way, for honorary and ceremonial purposes.
