WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works (DPW), formerly known as the Department of Neighborhood and Recreational Services, requests an extension of the emergency contract with Dejana Industries Inc., 30 Sagamore Hill Drive, Port Washington, NY 11050, to continue providing street sweeping services for the West Ward; and
WHEREAS, the DPW was desirous of continuing to provide street sweeping services to the West Ward in-house, however the Municipal Council failed to adopt the resolution to lease additional equipment, accordingly, DPW sought to obtain services from Dejana Industries Inc., as an emergency contract for the West Ward; and
WHEREAS, an Emergency was declared due to insufficient number of operable street sweeping machines available to service the West Ward, and an Emergency contract was awarded to Dejana Industries Inc., who also performs street sweeping services for the City's four o...
