Purpose: This resolution authorizes the Mayor and/or his designee, the Director of the Department of Recreation, Cultural and Senior Services to execute a Facility License Agreement with Newark Performing Arts Corporation with its principal offices located at 1030 Broad Street, Newark, New Jersey 07102, for the use of Newark Symphony Hall located at 1020 Broad Street, Newark, New Jersey 07102, on Thursday, January 26, 2017, so the City may hold the "29th Annual Sing in Praise of King" a/k/a the Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., Celebration.

WHEREAS, City of Newark is desirous of holding the "29th Annual Sing in Praise of King" a/k/a the Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., Celebration ("City Event") at the Newark Symphony Hall located at 1020 Broad Street, Newark, New Jersey 07102 on Thursday, January 26, 2017; and
WHEREAS, the City must enter into a Facility License Agreement with the Newark Performing Arts Corporation, for the use of Newark Symphony Hall located at 1020 Broad Street, Newark, New Jersey 07102, for the City Event in the amount of $11,465.00, representing Facility Use and Ancillary Services Fees; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Municipal Council has indicated its support of the City event by approving the execution of the Facility License Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
