WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 7R8-c(as), adopted on February 1, 2017, the Municipal Council supported the issuance of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement for a Community Meeting at Dr. William H. Horton Elementary School, 291 North 7th Street, Newark, New Jersey 07107, (Cafeteria or Auditorium and Restrooms), on Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 7R8-d(as), adopted on February 15, 2017, the Municipal Council supported the issuance of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement for a Community Meeting at Dr. William H. Horton Elementary School, 291 North 7th Street, Newark, New Jersey 07107, (Cafeteria or Auditorium and Restrooms), on Thursday, February 22, 2017 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.; and
WHEREAS, due to inclement weather and circumstances beyond the Councilman’s control the meetings were postponed and it is requested that a new Hold Harmless Agreement be issued with the rescheduled dates from Wednesday, February 22, 2017 to Thursday, March 16, 2017, between 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and Alternate Date: Monday, March 20, 2017; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council of the City of Newark supports the issuance of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement, drawn by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission for the benefit of the Newark Public Schools, 2 Cedar Street, Newark, New Jersey 07102, for any claims arising out of the City of Newark’s use of the Dr. William H. Horton Elementary School, 291 North 7th Street, Newark, New Jersey 07107 (Cafeteria or Auditorium and Restrooms), on Thursday, March 16, 2017 and Alternate Date: Monday, March 20, 2017, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
2. The City Clerk, on behalf of the Newark Municipal Council, shall forward a true copy of the amended Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement to the Newark Public Schools, 2 Cedar Street, Newark, New Jersey 07102, for their records.
3. A copy of the executed amended Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement drawn by the City’s Insurance Fund Commission shall be filed in the Office of the City Clerk.
STATEMENT
This resolution supports the issuance by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission, of an amended Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement for the benefit of the Newark Public Schools, 2 Cedar Street, Newark, New Jersey 07102, for any claims arising out of the City of Newark’s use of Dr. William H. Horton Elementary School, 291 North 7th Street, Newark, New Jersey 07107 (Cafeteria or Auditorium and Restrooms), on Thursday, March 16, 2017 and Alternate Date: Monday, March 20, 2017, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. for a Community Meeting, sponsored by Councilman Joseph A. McCallum, Jr.
