WHEREAS, African-American Heritage Week is honored annually during the week of April 12th; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newark wishes to celebrate Sunday, April 9, 2017 through Saturday, April 15, 2017 this year as African-American Heritage Week.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY. THAT:
1. The Municipal Council hereby declares the week of April 9, 2017 through April 15, 2017, as African-American Heritage Week throughout the City of Newark.
2. A copy of this resolution shall be filed with the Office of the City Clerk.
STATEMENT
This resolution hereby declares Municipal Council support of African-American Heritage Week to create cultural awareness during the week of April 9, 2017 through April 15, 2017 throughout the City of Newark, New Jersey.
