WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in Special Item of Appropriation in the amount of $8,181.00 for a cash match required by the 2015 Assistance to Firefighters Grant award (a copy of the grant Award Letter is attached hereto and made a part hereof), and no provision has been made in the 2017 Temporary Budget for the aforesaid purpose, and N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the purpose above-mentioned; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution 7R9-b, adopted on January 19, 2017 (a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof), the City of Newark accepted the 2015 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program award, which required a cash match in the amount of $8,181.00, from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for the purchase of 100 self-contained breathing apparatus cylinders for fire services; and
WHEREAS, a previous resolution authorizing TE #20 and prior emergency appropriations submitted for Municipal Council approval totaled $118,519,534.18; and
