WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-120, Anthony Garcia, of 19 Highland Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07104, was appointed as a Constable pursuant to Resolution 7R8-e adopted at the April 19, 2017 Regular Municipal Council Meeting; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-125, Anthony Garcia, must give a bond, approved as to form, amount and sufficiency by the Acting Corporation Counsel and the Municipal Council; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-121, a constable must qualify within thirty (30) days of the initial adoption of the resolution of appointment, and shall hold office for a term of three (3) years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Constable appointment of Anthony Garcia, 19 Highland Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07104, is for a term of three (3) years from the date of appointment or the expiration of the Constable Bond, whichever occurs first.
2. The Constable Bond, in the amount of $1,000.00 issued to Anthony Garcia, of 19 Highland Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07104, is approved as to form, amount and sufficiency.
STATEMENT
This resolution hereby approves the form, amount and sufficiency of the Constable Bond posted for Anthony Garcia, 19 Highland Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07104, to serve as Constable in the City of Newark, New Jersey, for a period of three (3) years from the date of appointment or the expiration of the Constable Bond, whichever occurs first.
