MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. BOULEVARD AND UNIVERSITY AVENUE, EXTENDING APPROXIMATELY 165 FEET WEST FROM INTERSECTION OF UNIVERSITY AVENUE. (CENTRAL WARD)

WHEREAS, the residents of 71, 73, 75 Bleeker Street and 167 University Avenue (corner property), have submitted a petition for Permit Parking on the Northside of Bleeker Street between Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and University Avenue, extending approximately 165 feet west from intersection of University Avenue, in the Central Ward; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Engineering wishes to improve parking for the residents of 71, 73, 75 Bleeker Street and 167 University Avenue (corner property), by creating Residential Permit Parking requirements.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:

Section 1. That Section 23:5-14e, Parking by Permit Only in Designated Residential Areas, of Title 23, Traffic and Parking, of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, New Jersey, 2000, be amended and supplemented by adding thereto the following:

Northside of Bleeker Street, between Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and University Avenue, approximately 165 feet west from intersection of University Avenue (Hours: 24hrs. / Days: Monday-Sunday)

Section 2. Regulatory signs shall be erected and maintained by the City of Newark.

Section 3. Any ordinance or parts thereof inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby repealed.

Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon final passage and publication and in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey.
