WHEREAS, Ordinance 6PSF-e, adopted on May 20, 2015, authorizes the designation of an intersection, etc. for honorary and ceremonial purposes; and
WHEREAS, the late Bishop W.D. Boughton, longtime Pastor of Newark’s New Life Holy Church, for many years was a dedicated and highly influential religious leader in the City of Newark; and
WHEREAS, Bishop W.D. Boughton was also well known and respected throughout the State of New Jersey’s religious community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby authorize the honorary and ceremonial renaming of the intersection of Livingston Street and Springfield Avenue as Bishop W. D. Boughton Way.
2. The official names of the said streets shall remain Livingston Street and Springfield Avenue in their entirety.

This resolution hereby authorizes the naming of the intersection of Livingston Street and Springfield Avenue, as Bishop W. D. Boughton Way, for honorary and ceremonial purposes.
