WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A., Shadid Jamal Webb, of 54 Vermont Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07106, was appointed as a Constable pursuant to Resolution 7R9-b adopted at the April 19, 2017 Regular Municipal Council Meeting; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-125, Shadid Jamal Webb, of 54 Vermont Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07106 must give a Bond, approved as to form, amount, and sufficiency by the Acting Corporation Counsel and the Municipal Counsil; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-121, a constable must qualify within thirty (30) days of the initial adoption of the resolution of appointment, and shall hold office for a term of three (3) years; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council wishes to amend the term of appointment, in part due to overdue receipt of the required Bond and approve the form, amount and sufficiency of the Constable Bond.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The term of the Constable appointment of Shadid Jamal Webb, of 54 Vermont Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07106, is amended from April 19, 2017 to a period of three (3) years from the date of the Constable Bond to its expiration.
