WHEREAS, the Newark Municipal Council is desirous of supporting the 4th Annual Central Ward Back Pack Giveaway Event at Branch Brook Park, (Lions at Lake Street on Central Ward Side), on Saturday, September 2, 2017, between 12:00 P.M. and 4:00 P.M.; and

 

           WHEREAS, the Newark Municipal Council has indicated its support for this wholesome event that will benefit Newark residents by approving the issuance of a  Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission for the benefit of  the Essex County Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, 115 Clifton Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07104.

 

            NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:

 

1.                     The Municipal Council of the City of Newark supports the issuance of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement, drawn by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission, for the benefit of the Essex County Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, 115 Clifton Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07104, for any claims arising out of the City of Newark’s use of Branch Brook Park, (Lions Statute at Lake Street on Central Ward Side entrance - Prudential Concert Grove area), on Saturday, September 2, 2017, between 12:00 P.M. and 4:00 P.M. 

 

2.                     The City Clerk, on behalf of the Newark Municipal Council, shall forward a true copy of the Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement to the Essex County Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, 115 Clifton Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07104, for their records.

 

3.                     A copy of the executed Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement drawn by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission shall be filed in the Office of the City Clerk.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

This resolution supports the issuance by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement for the benefit of the Essex County Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, 115 Clifton Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07104, for any claims arising out of the City of Newark’s use of Branch Brook Park, (Lions Statute at Lake Street on Central Ward Side entrance - Prudential Concert Grove area), on Saturday, September 2, 2017, between 12:00 P.M. and 4:00 P.M. for the 4th Annual Back Pack Giveaway Event sponsored by Councilwoman Gayle Chaneyfield Jenkins.
