WHEREAS, Ordinance 6PSF-e, adopted on May 20, 2015, authorizes the designation of an intersection, etc. for honorary and ceremonial purposes; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Salvador Marse was a prominent pediatrician in the North Ward of Newark where he serviced the community for over 35 years offering vital assistance to those in need.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby authorize the honorary and ceremonial renaming of the intersection of Mt. Prospect Avenue and Elwood Avenue as “Dr. Salvador Marse Way”.
2. The official name of the said streets shall remain Mt. Prospect Avenue and Elwood Avenue in its entirety.

This resolution hereby authorizes the naming of the intersection of Mt. Prospect Avenue and Elwood Avenue as “Dr. Salvador Marse Way”, for honorary and ceremonial purposes.
