WHEREAS, the City of Newark (hereinafter, "City") seeks to continue to implement the West Ward Victims Outreach Services and Crime Reduction Initiative (WWVO) strategies to support trauma-informed, victim-centered care for boys and men harmed by violence in the City's West Ward; and

WHEREAS, the United States Department of Justice (hereinafter, "DOJ"), Office of Justice Programs - solicited applications for funding under the FY 17 Supporting Male Survivors of Violence Invitation to Apply which encourages cities to provide innovative services to male survivors of violence and is administered by the DOJ's Office for Victims of Crime (OVC); and
