WHEREAS, Ordinance 6PSF-e, adopted on May 20, 2015, authorizes the designation of an intersection, etc. for honorary and ceremonial purposes; and
WHEREAS, Father Luigi Zanotto, who passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018. He served as Pastor of St. Lucy’s Church in Newark, New Jersey for over eight (8) years; and
WHEREAS, Father Luigi Zanotto, was born in Verona, Italy on November 11, 1940 and was ordained as a priest fifty (50) years ago; and
WHEREAS, Father Luigi Zanotto, loved his church and the parishioners he spent time teaching and praying for in the North Ward community. He will be sorely missed and appreciated for his years of dedication and commitment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby authorize the honorary and ceremonial renaming of the intersection of Ruggiero Plaza and 7th Avenue as Father Luigi Zanotto Way.
2. The official name of the said streets shall remain Ruggerio Plaza and 7th Avenue in its entirety.

This resolution hereby authorizes the naming of the intersection of Ruggiero Plaza and 7th Avenue as “Father Luigi Zanotto Way”, for honorary and ceremonial purposes.
