WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is committed to quality of life for residents city-wide; and

 

WHEREAS, residents have expressed a need for enhanced public safety and law enforcement services in their community throughout each City Ward; and

 

 WHEREAS, East Ward residents have pled for a Mini Precinct on Pennsylvania Avenue; and

 

WHEREAS, the East Ward Councilman requests that the Department of Public Safety consider establishing a Mini Precinct on Pennsylvania Avenue, near Jackson Park (Between Parkhurst Street and Gillette Place) in the East Ward.

 

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:

 

1.                     The Municipal Council of the City of Newark supports the request of a Mini Precinct on Pennsylvania Avenue near Jackson Park (Between Parkhurst Street and Gillette Place) in the East Ward.

 

2.                     A copy of this resolution shall be forward to the Mayor, the Business Administrator and the Director of Public Safety.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

This resolution declares the intent of the Municipal Council to support establishing a Mini Precinct on Pennsylvania Avenue near Jackson Park (Between Parkhurst Street and Gillette Place) in the East Ward to enhance public safety and law enforcement services for residents.
