WHEREAS, Ordinance 6PSF-e, adopted on May 20, 2015, authorizes the designation of an intersection, etc. for honorary and ceremonial purposes; and
WHEREAS, Josloff Glass Company, Newark’s oldest glass company and the largest glass company in Essex County, has served the City of Newark and the tri-state area for many years as one of the leading glass and metal contractors; and
WHEREAS, originally founded in 1903 by Ezra Josloff, the Josloff Glass Company is presently being run by its fourth generation: Ian Josloff. Josloff Glass has provided the glass works for many of the iconic buildings located throughout the City of Newark, including The Prudential Center, City Hall and the Hahne’s Building.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby authorize the honorary and ceremonial renaming of 169 Meeker Street, between Empire Street and Elizabeth Avenue, as Josloff Way.
2. The official name of the said streets shall remain Meeker Street in its entirety.

This resolution hereby authorizes the renaming of 169 Meeker Street, between Empire Street and Elizabeth Avenue, as Josloff Way, for honorary and ceremonial purposes.
