WHEREAS, the City of Newark is desirous of providing venues for wholesome family events that encourages residents to come out and enjoy themselves during the summer months; and
WHEREAS, the North Ward Reunion Family Fun Day offers residents the opportunity to re-connect with old friends from their North Ward neighborhoods; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Municipal Council has indicated its’ support of the North Ward Reunion Family Fun Day, to be held on Oraton Street (between Grafton Avenue and Elwood Street), on Saturday, August 4, 2018, from 10:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council hereby supports and co-sponsors the North Ward Reunion Family Fun Day, on Oraton Street (between Grafton Avenue and Elwood Street), on Saturday, August 4, 2018, from 10:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M.
2. The Municipal Council in co-sponsoring this special event waives the City of Newark’s event fees and costs; however, it does not waive the insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by the event organizers.
STATEMENT
This resolution hereby supports and declares co-sponsorship of the North Ward Reunion Family Fun Day to be held at Oraton Street (between Grafton Avenue and Elwood Avenue) in the North Ward, Saturday, August 4, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., sponsored by Council Member, Anibal Ramos, Jr.
