WHEREAS, the City of Newark is desirous of providing venues for wholesome family events that encourages residents to come out and enjoy themselves during the summer months; and
WHEREAS, the Emanuel Christian Church Annual Block Party offers residents the opportunity to enjoy a street festival with spiritual enlightenment and guidance; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Municipal Council indicates its’ support of the Emanuel Christian Church Annual Block Party, to be held at 127-133 N. 7th Street, (between by Orange Street and 7th Avenue), on Saturday, August 4, 2018, from 9:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council hereby supports and co-sponsors the Emanuel Christian Church Annual Block Party, at 127-133 N. 7th Street (between by Orange Street and 7th Avenue), on Saturday, August 4, 2018, from 9:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M.
2. The Municipal Council in co-sponsoring this special event waives the City of Newark’s event fees and costs, however, it does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organizers.

This resolution hereby supports and declares co-sponsorship of the Emanuel Christian Church Annual Block Party, to be held at 127-133 N. 7th Street, (between by Orange Street and 7th Avenue), in the West Ward, on Saturday, August 4, 2018, from 9:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M.
