WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-120, Marquise Ross, 9 South Pine Lane, Newark, New Jersey 07107, was appointed as a Constable pursuant to Resolution 7R8-a adopted at the April 24, 2018, Regular Municipal Council Meeting; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-125, Marquise Ross, 9 South Pine Lane, Newark, New Jersey 07107, must give a Bond, in such form and amount as prescribed by the Governing Body and approved as to form and sufficiency by the Acting Corporation Counsel; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-121, a Constable must qualify within thirty (30) days of the initial adoption of the resolution of appointment, and shall hold office for a term of three (3) years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The term of the Constable appointment of Marquise Ross, 9 South Pine Lane, Newark, New Jersey 07107, is for a term of three (3) years, from the date of appointment or the expiration of the Constable Bond, whichever occurs first.
2. The Constable Bond in the amount of $1,000.00, issued to Marquise Ross, 9 South Pine Lane, Newark, New Jersey 07107, is approved as to form, amount, and sufficiency.
STATEMENT
This resolution hereby authorizes and approves as to form, amount, and sufficiency the Constable Bond for Marquise Ross, 9 South Pine Lane, Newark, New Jersey 07107, who was appointed to serve as a Constable in the City of Newark, New Jersey, for a term of three (3) years from the date of appointment or the expiration of the Constable Bond, whichever occurs first.
