WHEREAS, the City of Newark is desirous of providing venues for wholesome family events that encourages residents to come out and enjoy themselves during the summer months; and
WHEREAS, the Ecuadorian Parade offers the City of Newark’s vibrant Ecuadorian community the opportunity to celebrate Ecuador’s Independence Day festivities in a wholesome manner; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Municipal Council indicates its’ support of the Ecuadorian Parade together with the Ecuadorian-American Chamber of Commerce, to be held on Ferry Street, beginning at 310 Ferry Street and ending at 200 Ferry Street, on Sunday, August 12, 2018, from 12:00 P.M. until 4:30 P.M.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council hereby supports and co-sponsors the Ecuadorian Parade to be held on Ferry Street, beginning at 310 Ferry Street and ending at 200 Ferry Street, on Sunday, August 12, 2018, from 12:00 P.M. until 4:30 P.M.
2. The Municipal Council in co-sponsoring this special event waives the City of Newark’s event fees and costs; however, it does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organizers.
STATEMENT
This resolution hereby supports and declares co-sponsorship of the Ecuadorian Parade, to be held on Ferry Street, beginning at 310 Ferry Street and ending at 200 Ferry Street, in the East Ward, on Sunday, August 12, 2018, from 12:00 P.M. until 4:30 P.M., sponsored by Council Member, Augusto Amador.
