WHEREAS, the City of Newark is desirous of providing venues for wholesome family events that encourages residents to come out and enjoy themselves during the summer months; and
WHEREAS, the Halsey Festival offers residents the opportunity to enjoy food, shopping, and musical entertainment; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Municipal Council indicates its’ support of the Halsey Festival, to be held on Halsey Street between Central Avenue and New Street, on Thursday, September 6, 2018, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. The rain date is Thursday, September 13, 2018.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council hereby supports the Halsey Festival, to be held on Halsey Street between Central Avenue and New Street, on Thursday, September 6, 2018, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. The rain date is Thursday September 13, 2018.
2. The Municipal Council in co-sponsoring this special event waives the City of Newark’s event fees and costs, however, it does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organizers.

This resolution hereby supports and declares co-sponsorship of the Halsey Festival, to be held on Halsey Street between Central Avenue and New Street, on Thursday, September 6, 2018, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. The rain date will be Thursday, September 13, 2018. The event is co-sponsored by Councilman, Eddie Osborne.
