WHEREAS, is an annual event that provides the community the opportunity to come together and create awareness of domestic violence and sexual abuse and provides members of our community with resources to end domestic violence and sexual abuse; and

WHEREAS, the 8th Annual Awareness Walk to End Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse offers residents the opportunity to spread the message that no one is alone; and

WHEREAS, the Newark Municipal Council indicates its' support of the 8th Annual Awareness Walk to End Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse, to be held at the corner of Military Park and Broad Street and ending at Lincoln Park with a Rally on the steps of City Hall, on Saturday, October 6, 2018, from 10:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. The rain date is Saturday, October 20, 2018.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:

1. The Municipal Council hereby supports the 8th Annual Awareness Walk to End Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse, to be held on at the corner of Military Park and Broad Street and ends at Lincoln Park with a Rally on the steps of City Hall, on Saturday, October 6, 2018, from 10:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M.
