WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-120, Leon Purdie, 87 Lenox Street, Newark, New Jersey 07106, was appointed as a Constable pursuant to Resolution 7R8-c adopted at the May 10, 2018, Regular Municipal Council Meeting; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-125, Leon Purdie, 87 Lenox Street, Newark, New Jersey 07106, must give a Bond, in such form and amount as prescribed by the Governing Body and approved as to form and sufficiency by the Corporation Counsel; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-121, a Constable must qualify within thirty (30) days of the initial adoption of the resolution of appointment, and shall hold office for a term of three (3) years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The term of the Constable appointment of Leon Purdie, 87 Lenox Street, Newark, New Jersey 07106, is for a term of three (3) years from the date of the appointment or the expiration of the Constable Bond, whichever occurs first.
2. The Constable Bond in the amount of $1,000.00, issued to Leon Purdie, 87 Lenox Street, Newark, New Jersey 07106, is approved as to form, amount, and sufficiency.
STATEMENT
This resolution hereby authorizes and approves as to form, amount, and sufficiency the Constable Bond for Leon Purdie, 87 Lenox Street, Newark, New Jersey 07106, who was appointed to serve as a Constable in the City of Newark, New Jersey, for a term of three (3) years from the date of appointment or the expiration of the Constable Bond, whichever occurs first.
