WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A:4-87 provides that the Director of Local Government Services may approve the insertion of any Special Item of Revenue in the budget of any local unit when such item shall have been made available by law and the amount thereof shall not have been determined at the time of the adoption of the budget, and may approve the insertion of an appropriation item of equal amount for the purpose of carrying out the purposes of the law making such item of revenue available for expenditure; and
WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness has made available $1,747,500.00 for the Urban Areas Security Initiative Grant; and
WHEREAS, by an award letter dated September 15, 2018 from the State of New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness, the City of Newark accepted the Urban Areas Security Initiative Grant authorizing a total award of $1,747,500.00 to provide the regi...
