AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23:5-14e, PARKING BY PERMIT ONLY IN DESIGNATED RESIDENTIAL AREAS, OF TITLE 23, TRAFFIC AND PARKING, OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, 2000, AS AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED, BY REVISING EXISTING PERMIT PARKING HOURS ON RIDGE STREET BETWEEN 2ND AVENUE AND ABINGTON AVENUE, IN THE NORTH WARD.

WHEREAS, the North Ward Councilman has submitted a request to revise the Permit Parking on Ridge Street between 2nd Avenue and Abington Avenue, in the North Ward.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
Section 1. That Section 23:5-14e, Parking by Permit Only in Designated Residential Areas, of Title 23, Traffic and Parking, of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, New Jersey, 2000, as amended and supplemented, by deleting the following language:
Ridge Street, both sides between 2nd Avenue and Abington Avenue (Hours: 24hrs. / Days: Monday-Sunday)
Section 2. That Section 23:2-1, One-Way Streets, of Title 23, Traffic and Parking, of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, New Jersey, 2000, as amended and supplemented, be amended by adding thereto the following:
Ridge Street, both sides between 2nd Avenue and Abington Avenue
(Hours: 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. / Days: Monday-Sunday)
Section 3. Regulatory signs shall be erected and maintained by the City of Newark.
Section 4. Any ordinance or parts thereof inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect upon final passage and publication and in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey.
Section 6. This ordinance does not require approval by the Commissioner of Transportation.
STATEMENT
This ordinance revises the “Parking by Permit Only” hours on Ridge Street, on both sides, between 2nd Avenue and Abington Avenue. (North Ward)
