WHEREAS, Ordinance 6PSF-e, May 20, 2015, authorizes the designation of an intersection, etc. for honorary and ceremonial purposes; and
WHEREAS, IDT Corporation, has been a pioneer in the telecommunications industry for 25 years and each of the companies that have spun-off to the shareholders in recent years, IDW Media, Genie Energy and Straight Path Communications has created shareholder value with a bold, innovative approach with huge upside potential; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Municipal Council would like to commemorate these achievements by renaming the intersection of Bridge Street and Atlantic Street in their honor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby authorize the renaming of the corner of Bridge Street and Atlantic Street as IDT Boulevard at Atlantic Street for honorary and ceremonial purposes.
2. The names of said streets shall remain Bridge Street and Atlantic Street in their entirety.
