WHEREAS, the Department of Health and Community Wellness provides nutritional services, nutritional education, immunization screening and education, voter registration, and family care enrollment through the Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women Infants and Children (WIC); and

WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH), Division of Family Services, has made grant funds available for the provision of WIC services in the City of Newark; and

WHEREAS, on June 25, 2018, on behalf of the City of Newark, the Director of the Department of Health and Community Wellness submitted an application to NJDOH requesting grant funding in the amount of one million eight hundred sixty-one thousand eight hundred nineteen dollars and zero cents ($1,861,819.00) from the Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2019 WIC Health Service Grant for WIC services in the City of Newark; and
