WHEREAS, Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, California 94043, wishes to donate Ten Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($10,000.00) to the City of Newark's Department of Public Safety in recognition of the Department's prior participation in a previous study conducted on virtual reality for law enforcement training; and
WHEREAS, the letter of donation from Google LLC (attached hereto and made a part hereof) does not set forth any conditions relative to the acceptance or use of the gift; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Public Safety Director recommends that the gift from Google LLC be accepted, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:5-29; and
WHEREAS, the gift shall not be put to any use which is inconsistent with the laws of New Jersey or the United States; and
WHEREAS, Google LLC fully understands and acknowledges that it is not entitled to receive any direct or indirect benefit from the City of Newark in exchange for its gift.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Mayor and/or his designees, the Business Administrator and/or the Public Safety Director, are hereby authorized to accept a gift from Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, California94043, in the amount of Ten Thousand Dollars and Zero ($10,000.00) for the Public Safety Department's participation in a study conducted on ...
