WHEREAS, at the request of the Department of Engineering and review of the traffic operations by New Jersey Transit in conjunction with the City of Newark, Division of Traffic and Signals and pursuant to N.J.S.A. 39:4-197(3)(a), the following described location is designated as a bus stop:
ADDED BUS STOP:
1. In the East Ward, along Pulaski Street, southbound on the westerly side thereof:
Nichols Street, nearside
Beginning at the northerly curb line of Nichols Street and extending 120ft northerly therefrom. (Fronting East Side High School)
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 39:4-197(3)(a) of Title 39 of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey, a municipality may by ordinance, resolution or regulation, designate or delete a bus stop.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. In the East Ward, the following described location is hereby designated as a bus stop:
Along Pulaski Street southbound on the westerly side at Nichols Street nearside thereof and extending 120ft northerly therefrom. (Fronting East Side High School).
2. No Municipal funds will be expended for this act.
3. No amendment will be made to this resolution without the approval of the Municipal Council of the City of Newark.
4. Upon approval, the Engineering Department will forward a copy of this resolution to the City Clerk’s Office to notify them of the Local Government’s approval for the addition of a bus stop as stated.
5. Upon approval, a certified copy of this resolution shall be forwarded to New Jersey Transit to notify them of the Local Government’s approval for the addition of a bus stop as stated.
6. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 39:4-8 (e) of Title 39 of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey, the proposed bus stop designation does not require New Jersey Department of Transportation’s approval.
STATEMENT
This resolution designates the addition of a bus stop in the East Ward as follows:
Along Pulaski Street southbound on the westerly side thereof at Nichols Street nearside beginning at the northerly curb line of Nichols Street and extending 120ft northerly therefrom. (Fronting East Side High School).
