WHEREAS, the City of Newark is the proud home of many prestigious centers of education and learning; and
WHEREAS, Saint Vincent Academy has been, for many decades, this City’s stellar secondary scholastic institution exclusively for young women; and
WHEREAS, Saint Vincent Academy should take pride in having nurtured and produced countless young women who have done on to be outstanding role models and leaders in a myriad of professions in the worlds of business, health, the sciences, public service and education, as well as contributing enormously to the civic life of their communities; and
WHEREAS, Saint Vincent Academy is currently celebrating the 150th Anniversary of its’ founding in 1869; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newark wishes to join with the administration, staff, alumnae, students, and friends of this great establishment on the occasion of this noteworthy event.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Newark Municipal Council does hereby recognize and commend Saint Vincent Academy on the 150th Anniversary of its’ founding and does further convey its’ best wishes for the continued success of this fine school in its’ quest to provide a level of unsurpassed academic excellence to the young women of the Greater Newark Metropolitan.
