WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-120, Chermica Renee Gardner, of 124 South 14th Street, Newark, New Jersey 07107, was appointed as a Constable pursuant to Resolution 7R8-a, adopted at the April 3, 2019, Regular Municipal Council Meeting; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-125, Chermica Renee Gardner, 124 South 14th Street, Newark, New Jersey 07107, must give a bond, in such form and amount as prescribed by the Governing Body and approved as to form and sufficiency by the Corporation Counsel; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-121, a Constable must qualify within thirty (30) days of the initial adoption of the resolution of appointment, and shall hold office for a term of three (3) years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The term of the Constable appointment Chermica Renee Gardner,124 South 14th Street, Newark, New Jersey 07107, is for a term of three (3) years from the date of appointment or the expiration of the Constable Bond, whichever occurs first.
2. The Constable Bond in the amount of $1,000.00 issued to Chermica Renee Gardner,124 South 14th Street, Newark, New Jersey 07107, is approved as to form, amount, and sufficiency.
