WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in Special Item of Appropriation in the amount of $190,000.00 for the Immunization Program, no adequate provision has been made in the 2019 Temporary Budget for the aforesaid purpose, and N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the same; and

WHEREAS, by letter of intent, dated March 19, 2019, from the New Jersey Department of Health, Vaccine Preventable Disease Program, the City of Newark has been awarded $190,000.00 to continue to increase immunization levels through the Immunization Program; and

WHEREAS, the City of Newark, Department of Health and Community Wellness, will be submitting an Apply and Accept Resolution under separate cover to the Newark Municipal Council for its consideration relative to said grant award; and

WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20 provides that the governing body, by a two-thirds vote, may make temporary emergency appropriations for any purpose which appropriations may lawfully be made for the period between the beginning of the current fiscal year and the date ...
