WHEREAS, the City of Newark is desirous of providing meaningful recreational activities for its young people and exposing them to various athletic activities; and
WHEREAS, the "Boxing on Broad Street" Event provides the community, especially the youth, the unique opportunity to experience live competitive amateur boxing matches for the first time and enjoy the virtues of the "Sweet Science"; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Municipal Council has indicated its support of "Boxing on Broad Street", a collaboration between the Pan American Caribbean Boxing Organization and Council Member, Luis A. Quintana, being held on Broad Street between Camp Street and Pennington Street, on Saturday, July 27, 2019, from 10:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. Rain Date: Sunday, July 28, 2019.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the "Boxing on Broad Street' Event, to be held on Broad Street between Camp Street and Pennington Street, on Saturday, July 27, 2019, from 10:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. Rain Date: Sunday July 28, 2019.
