AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23:5-1, PARKING PROHIBITED AT ALL TIMES, OF TITLE 23, TRAFFIC AND PARKING, OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, 2000, AS AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED, BY REMOVING PROSPECT ROW BETWEEN PROSPECT STREET AND ITS WESTERLY TERMINUS FROM THE LIST (EAST WARD).

WHEREAS, on January 09, 2019, the Municipal Council of the City of Newark, adopted Ordinance 6PSF-e, to prohibit parking anytime on Prospect Row (Both Sides), between Prospect Street and its Westerly terminus in the East Ward; and
WHEREAS, the residents of Prospect Row have submitted a petition to remove the No Parking Anytime restriction on Prospect Row (Both Sides) between Prospect Street and its Westerly terminus, and allow parking on both sides of street, in the East Ward; and
WHEREAS, on April 24, 2019, Councilman Augusto Amador submitted a request to remove the No Parking Anytime restriction on Prospect Row (Both Sides) between Prospect Street and its Westerly terminus, and allow parking on both sides of street, in the East Ward.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
Section 1. That Section 23:5-1, Parking Prohibited at all Times, of Title 23, Traffic and Parking, of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, New Jersey, 2000, be amended and supplemented by removing thereto the following from list:
Prospect Row, both sides, between Prospect Street and its Westerly Terminus, in the East Ward
Section 2. Regulatory signs shall be removed by the City of Newark.
Section 3. Any ordinance or parts thereof inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon final passage and publication and in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey.
Section 5. This ordinance does not require approval by the Commissioner of Transportation.
STATEMENT
This ordinance amends Title 23, Traffic and Parking, of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, New Jersey, 2000, as amended and supplemented, Section 23:5-1, Parking Prohibited at all Times to remove the No Parking Anytime restriction on Prospect Row (Both Sides) between Prospect Street and its Westerly terminus, in the East Ward, from the list.
