The City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Fee ($750.00) for park use and the Wenger wagon will be waived.

WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide wholesome family entertainment and education that allows residents the opportunity to gather and renew old acquaintances and establish new ones; and
WHEREAS, the My Sisters Lighthouse Walk to end Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse sets an example for other Central Ward communities on how to strengthen and improve their communities through social interactions and gatherings; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support of the My Sisters Lighthouse Walk to end Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse, from Military Park ending at Lincoln Park (Central Ward), on Friday, October 4, 2019, from 10:30 A.M. until 12:00 P.M.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the My Sisters Lighthouse Walk to end Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse, from Military Park ending at Lincoln Park (Central Ward), on Friday, October 4, 2019, from 10:30 A.M. until 12:00 P.M.
2. The Municipal Council is sponsoring this special event and waives the City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Fee ($750.00), however, it does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organizers or costs above service charges described in R.O. 5:10-1 et seq.
STATEMENT
This resolution supports and declares sponsorship by the Municipal Council of the My Sisters Lighthouse Walk to end Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse, waiving the City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Fee ($750.00), for an event to be held from Military Park ending at Lincoln Park (Central Ward), on Friday, October 4, 2019, from 10:30 A.M. until 12:00 P.M., sponsored by Council President, Mildred C. Crump.
