WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-120, Anthony Lamont Holden, 138 Huntington Terrace, Newark, New Jersey 07112, was appointed as a Constable pursuant to Resolution 7R8-a adopted at the September 5, 2019 Regular Municipal Council Meeting; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-125, Anthony Lamont Holden, of 138 Huntington Terrace, Newark, New Jersey 07112, must give a bond in such form and amount as prescribed by the Governing Body and approved as to form and sufficiency by the Corporation Counsel; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-121, a Constable must qualify within thirty (30) days of the initial adoption of the resolution of appointment, and shall hold office for a term of three (3) years; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council wishes to amend the appointment date due to overdue receipt of the required Constable Bond.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The term of the Constable appointment of Anthony Lamont Holden, 138 Huntington Terrace, Newark, New Jersey 07112, is amended from September 5, 2019 to a period of three (3) years from the date of the Constable Bond to its expiration.
