WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in the Special Item of Appropriation in the additional amount of $69,000.00 bringing total program resources to $259,000.00 for Workforce Learning Link Grant 2019-2020 and no provision has been made in the 2020 Temporary Budget for the aforesaid purpose and N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the purpose abovementioned; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution 7R2-f dated February 19, 2020, the City of Newark accepted additional funding from the State of New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development for the Workforce Learning Link Grant for State Fiscal Year 2020 (July 1st, 2019 through June 30th, 2020) in the amount of $69,000.00 to provide funds for the Newark Program Year 2019 Workforce Development Area Contract; and
WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20 provides that the Governing Body by a two-thirds vote may make temporary emergency appropriations for any purpose for which appropriations may lawfully be made for the period between the beginning of the current fiscal year and the date of the...
