WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in Special Item of Appropriation in the amount of $250,000.00 for the Brick City Peace Collective (BCPC) Grant , and no adequate provision has been made in the 2020 Temporary Budget for the aforesaid purpose, and N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the same; and
WHEREAS, by a Notice of Award dated February 10, 2020, the State of New Jersey, Department of Community Affairs, awarded the City of Newark the Brick City Peace Collective (BCPC) Grant in the amount of $250,000.00 to foster initiatives, programs and opportunities to reduce violence and strengthen relationships between law enforcement and Newark communities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newark's Department of Administration, submitted the following resolution which was approved under 7R1-d (AS) dated, February 5, 2020, in the amount of $250,000.00, to the Newark Municipal Council relative to said grant award; and
