WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey Department of Transportation ("NJDOT") for the 2021 Safe Streets to Transit Program (SST Program) provides grant funding for infrastructure improvements for traditional and non-traditional transportation initiatives that enable and encourage walking and bicycling to transit; and

WHEREAS, the City of Newark (the "City") desires to obtain funding from the 2021 SST Program to improve the intersection at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, Sussex Avenue and Central Avenue; and
