WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A.54:5-113 and 114 the Tax Collector is hereby requesting that the Municipal Council at their regularly scheduled meeting on November 5, 2020 authorize the private assignment of Tax Sale Certificate # 2012-3136, (dated, February 8, 2013) for property known as Block 3722, Lot 1, 378-384 Chancellor Avenue to:

WHEREAS, said Tax Certificate is presently held by the City of Newark (the "City"), and the City wishes to collect the outstanding municipal taxes and water charges. In consideration for assigning the Tax Certificate, the City will collect the total sum of Three Hundred Fifty Thousand, Eight Hundred Forty-One Dollars and Ninety-Five Cents ($350,841.95); said amount represents the tax lien and all subsequent years' charges including water and sewer through August 1, 2020.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1) The assignment of said Tax Sale Certificate #2012-3136 is hereby authorized.
2) The Tax Collector is hereby authorized and directed to execute this lien assignment for the sum of Three Hundred Fifty Thousand, Eight Hundred Forty-One Dollars and Ninety-Five Cents ($350,841.95).
