WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in Special Item of Appropriation in the amount of Eight Hundred Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($825,000.00) for the New Jersey Victim of Crime Act (VOCA) Grant (City Wide), and no adequate provision has been made in the 2022 Temporary Budget for the aforesaid purpose, and N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the same; and

WHEREAS, by the award letter dated November 5, 2021, the State of New Jersey, Office of the Attorney General, Department of Law and Public Safety has awarded the City of Newark the New Jersey Victim of Crime Act (VOCA) Grant funding of $825,000.00, for six (6) NJ Victim Assistance Grants: Central Ward Project ($137,500.00), East Ward Project ($137,500.00), North Ward Project ($137,500.00), Shani Baraka Resource Center Project ($137,500.00), South Ward Project ($1...
