WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide a wholesome family and neighborhood experience that allows the opportunity to gather and renew old acquaintances and establish new ones; and
WHEREAS, the Aldine Street Annual Block Party, sets an example for our South Ward communities on how to strengthen and improve our communities through social interactions and gatherings; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support of the Aldine Street Annual Block Party, on Aldine Street between Chancellor Avenue and Keer Avenue, on Saturday, May 28, 2022, from 12:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the Aldine Street Annual Block Party, on Aldine Street between Chancellor Avenue and Keer Avenue, on Saturday, May 28, 2022, from 12:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. (Set-up at 10:00 A.M. and Clean-up at 8:30 P.M.) (Rain Date: Sunday, May 29, 2022).
2. The Municipal Council is co-sponsoring this special event and waives the City of Newark's Special Event Permit Application Fee of Fifty Dollars and Zero Cents ($50.00), however, it does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organizers or costs above service charges described in R.O. 5:10-1 et seq.
